Leadership by its very nature can be an isolating experience. The higher you rise, the fewer people you have around you who will speak honestly, push back thoughtfully, or simply sit with you in the complexity of a hard decision. A coach fills that gap. We ask the questions your colleagues might not think to ask or that they might not feel safe asking. We hold space for the doubts you haven't said out loud, the patterns you've started to notice in yourself, and the kind of leader you're still becoming.
Coaching is not advising, consulting, or therapy, although it works well in tandem with each of these things. Coaching is a dedicated partnership built entirely around you and your growth as a leader. It's a space free from organizational agenda, office politics, or unsolicited advice. It is an honest, focused conversation about what you want, what's getting in the way, and what becomes possible when you start to see things differently. The coach's job is to help you transform how you approach a problem, so that you can see a better path forward. The fundamental assumption is that you (not the coach) are the expert on your career and on yourself.
When I was in higher ed, coaching was a foreign concept to me. I had heard of "life coaching," which sounded fluffy at best and suspiciously overlapping with therapy at worst, so when I heard the repeated suggestion "you would be really good at coaching," I wasn't sure whether to take it as an insult or a compliment. Fortunately, I chose to stay curious and discovered a new way of working that perfectly complemented my current values, skills, and expertise. Now when I look back to my years of leadership in higher education, I can see clearly how much I would have benefited from a coach.
I call my work Leadership Development Coaching very intentionally. My Ph.D. is in developmental psychology, a field focused on how people continue to grow and change across the lifespan. Leadership is part of this growth. Becoming a more effective leader is not about arriving at a final version of yourself or learning a fixed set of skills. It is an ongoing developmental process shaped by experience, reflection, relationships, and intentional practice. The word development reflects both my academic background and my perspective that coaching is about helping people grow into greater confidence, effectiveness, and alignment with the kind of leader they want to become.

The Goal: Finding the Perfect Fit
This is a no-pressure "meet and greet." We will discuss what coaching actually involvesand explore your specific needs to see if our styles align. By the end of this session, we will identify which coaching package best supports your current goals.
Duration: 60 Minutes
The Goal: Laying the Foundation
This is our first official work session. During this hour, we design our professional alliance, setting the stage for the Core Coaching Sessions. We’ll establish our working style, define your high-level goals for the coaching relationship, start identifying some of your strengths, values, and limiting beliefs, and, depending on your specific goals, determine how we will measure progress.
Duration: Varies by package (45-60 Minutes)
The Goal: Growth & Insight
These are the standard sessions where the real work happens. You bring the topic that feels most vital to you that week. We explore it with depth and curiosity, uncovering new perspectives and insights. We’ll also check in on your overall progress, identify what’s working, troubleshoot practical obstacles, and set specific "homework" and accountability structures to keep your momentum high until we meet again.
Between sessions, you will have homework that you either give yourself or that we design together to complement your journey.
